I am a Marriage and Family Therapist, licensed in California by the Board of Behavioral Sciences. I have been involved in the study and practice of psychotherapy since 2005, and earned my MA in Integral Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. I completed 2 additional years of clinical training at the Integral Counseling Center at Pierce Street before moving into private practice in 2008. Since then I have continued to expand my knowledge, perspective and skills, following new developments in theory and practice through study and experiential training.
Rooted in Psychodynamic fundamentals and Attachment theory, I incorporate ideas from AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy), EMDR, Mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Therapy, among others.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy) is an important aspect of my practice, allowing some individuals to process and recover from the lingering effects of both "minor" and "major" negative life events and memories.
